JOB SUMMARY:  

 

This role will support the Indirect Procurement team though executing sourcing initiatives, driving continuous improvement activities as well as providing support to the Category Managers. This is an ideal role for someone looking to get exposure to the various indirect categories as well driving improvement activities to mature the function. The categories supported may include but are not limited to – Corporate and Professional Services, IT, Facilities, MRO and Logistics.  The scope of this role will be needs based depending on volume and business priorities. Sourcing initiatives will vary from executing off existing master agreements to end to end sourcing initiatives. Business partnering will be key in this role to be able to support the needs of various functions at West.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Plans, organizes, directs, controls and communicates all strategic sourcing activities related to assigned commodities and services to cross functional teams.
  • Partners will key business stakeholders to understand business needs to support through sourcing initiatives.
  • Supports/drives internal and external process improvements and influences effective change and drive innovation and continuous improvements.
  • On a needs basis support the Category Managers on executing their category strategies.
  • Responsible for timely reporting of agreed upon KPI’s and presenting Strategic Sourcing plans, activities and progress.
  • Other procurement duties as assigned.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Technical curriculum, or non-academic bachelor of business administration.

 

Experience: 3-5 years of progressive business experience in sourcing/supplier/category management or related functions.

 

Competencies:

 

  • Supplier and contract management experience.
  • Ability to work with senior leadership teams at manufacturing sites and global headquarters.
  • Strong influencing, change management, and negotiation skills.
  • Present and advocate sourcing cases to a variety of audiences with self-confidence.
  • Ability to respectfully communicate to and challenge senior leadership.
  • Openness for new initiatives, fast learner, proactive.
  • Ability to lead teams and build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results orientation.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Self-starter and independent worker.
  • Proficiency in English.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: Master’s degree in a Business or Technical curriculum, or equivalent.

 

Experience: 3-5 years of progressive business experience in sourcing/supplier/category management or related functions, preferably with chemical industry or pharmaceutical industry background.

 

Competencies:

 

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Supply Chain or Procurement Certifications.
  • Experience with global sourcing initiatives.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in SAP (MM) and MS Office.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  Travel time is expected to be less than 20%#LI-NJ1
