Job Summary
As part of this role, the position holder contributes to the smooth and uninterrupted technical operation of the equipment at the Eschweiler plant through repairs and maintenance activities. They ensure that the functions of the machines and equipment within the assigned area of responsibility comply with the applicable technical requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Carrying out the necessary activities for the operation and maintenance of the systems at the site, with a focus on HVAC, plant steam, clean steam, natural gas, laboratory gases, compressed air, potable water, process cooling water, chilled water, water for injection (WFI), softened water, vacuum systems, etc.
- Performing repairs and maintenance inspections within the assigned area of responsibility
- Carrying out preventive maintenance within the assigned area of responsibility
- Analyzing faults and malfunctions in complex systems with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic components
- Optimizing, modifying, and expanding machines and systems within the assigned area of responsibility
- Contributing to and supporting projects within the assigned area of responsibility
- Calibrating measuring instruments and sensors
- On-call duty and willingness to work in a shift system
Education
- Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering or Automation Technology, or a comparable qualification in electrical engineering
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of CMMS and MS Office
- Any other certifications are a plus
- Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
- Able to always comply with the company’s safety policy
- Able to always comply with the company’s quality policy
- Knowledge of PLC Programming and electrical work
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic drawings is essential
- Ability to interact with suppliers, customers, and external contractors
