Job Summary
This role is responsible for managing the delivery of Revenue Accounting activities within West and driving global consistency and accuracy of financial reporting in the revenue space.
The position requires a highly motivated individual working with the business to understand our product / service offerings combined with systematic thinking on converting US GAAP requirements (manufacturing & multiple elements accounting background, ASC 605, and ASC 606) into system executions. The position also requires a fundamental knowledge and experience with percentage of completion revenue recognition, gross-to-net revenue concepts such as rebates and sales returns, month end close procedures, and controls.
The position requires working closely with the Corporate Accounting, FP&A and business stakeholders in both the Commercial, Operations and Engineering teams to (1) ensure accurate understanding of our revenues arrangement, (2) identify the correct US GAAP revenue accounting treatment, (3) convert understanding and requirements into executions, and (4) effectively communicate the results with analytical checks and balances while maintain systems integrity. In addition to revenues accounting and execution knowledge, this role manages and lead teams to achieve revenues monthly close and periodic revenues reporting deliverables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead revenue accounting and reporting in accordance with US GAAP and as per Company business model
- Manage day to day revenue accounting activities including Development Agreements, revenue cut-off, Rebate accounting and Royalties
- Manage month end close in relation to revenue, performing reviews throughout the close to ensure final output in line with internal and external reporting requirements
- Drive revenues process improvements in coordination with FP&A, Commercial and IT group
- Provide quarterly revenue flux analysis to senior finance executives
- Perform ad-hoc management related requests and analysis
- People: Lead and mentor a team of 2-3 professional accountants. Focus on building a strong team and develop a customer-centric culture in the team with highly collaborative relationships with the relevant stakeholders
- Control environment: Ensure that company's financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies, US and Local GAAP reporting requirements.
- Support compliance of internal controls and SOX requirements in relation revenue accounting
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Process and technology: Support deployment of SAP S/4 HANA and other systems. Support implementation of AI to drive efficiency and effectiveness in delivery of accounting services
- Acquisitions: Support integration into financial operations
- Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualification

Bachelors degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting

Qualified accountant i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA
- Minimum 7+ years of professional experience with a minimum of 3 years of management experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of ASC 606 Revenue Recognition Standard
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Proficient in SAP or similar ERP
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Experience of BI tools an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills i.e. ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of region, division and corporate functions
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively, while managing ambiguity and adapting to changing business needs and priorities
- Project management, meeting facilitation, written/oral communication and presentation skills
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
