Job Summary

To position itself to meet the requirements of continuing rapid business growth and future market development, West Pharmaceutical Services have developed a transformation strategy of standardization, simplification and centralization of global Procurement Services. The Procurement services program specialist will play a key role in driving the successful delivery of procurement projects and programs, digital enablement and process improvement initiatives. In conjunction with relevant business partners, identifies, defines, and implements business solutions for Procurement. This position combines program management with digitization expertise to ensure effective governance, deployment, and adoption of systems and tools that enhance operational excellence. This position will involve project planning, business case development, and functional requirements for a variety of functional projects that have an impact on strategic sourcing, procurement & finance operations. This role will be reporting to the Procurement Services Program Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Procurement Servicesn Programs and Projects
  • Support planning and delivery of cross‑functional procurement programs and PMO initiatives.
  • Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, align priorities, and keep projects progressing.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to inform sourcing and program decisions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Track program performance, benefits, and report updates to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement standards and maintain governance documentation.
  • Develop and maintain project management templates, frameworks, and dashboards.
  • Support system testing, data cleanup, and other ad‑hoc activities.
 
Technology Enablement
  • Support delivery of the procurement digital roadmap and transformation goals.
  • Partner with PLT, D&T, and DBI on key digital initiatives.
  • Assist deployment and integration of eProcurement and PMO systems; translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Drive adoption of digital tools through change management and training.
  • Maintain dashboards, templates, and frameworks to strengthen transparency and decision‑making.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, analytics, and AI across procurement.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies to support continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3rd level qualification or equivalent
  • Proven experience in technology deployment, integration or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience supporting programs, projects and/or process improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.​
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Robust project management skills and capabilities (Gantt charts, dashboards, key deliverables, business case and baseline development)
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to efficiently organize forums and coordinate communication with team members
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools and/or Lean Six Sigma is preferred.​
  • Preferred Shared Service Centre experience with multinational publicly quoted company experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS-Office tools (specifically, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus​
  • Can work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams
  • Openness for new initiatives, fast learner, proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow and upskill within the procurement function or other roles within West
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deadlines in an ever-changing environment.

Travel Requirements

10%: Up to 26 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Pay Transparency:

The annual base salary for this position is €52,200.00. Total target compensation is determined using objective and gender-neutral criteria, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, market benchmarks, geographic location, and the scope and responsibilities of the role.

This position may be eligible for variable compensation and other incentive programs in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans within the country of employment. In addition, team members are eligible to participate in the company’s benefits and total rewards programs applicable to their location and employment status.
