Job Summary
In this role, you will lead the identification, development, and global implementation of cutting-edge environmental, health, and safety (EHS) global programs for West personnel not directly under the authority & reporting relationship of the E&PC, Contract Manufacturing, or Drug Delivery Device manufacturing leadership team. This role will also provide corporate leadership and oversite to HSE professionals in the West Arizona locations. Your efforts will ensure implementation and alignment with West Corporate HSE standards, compliance with varied international regulations, and foster a strong culture of safety across diverse global sites. Key responsibilities include strategic HSE planning, rigorous risk assessment and management, and innovative accident prevention initiatives. These require robust leadership, deep regulatory expertise, and refined cross-cultural communication skills to effectively integrate global HSE strategies with local needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the global HSE program for the ~2,800 West team members and ~20 West facility locations not directly under E&PC, Contract Manufacturing, or Drug Delivery Device manufacturing leadership.
- Provide daily coordination and oversight to the HSE managers responsible for CM, DDD, and corporate facilities and teams in Arizona.
- Design and integrate global HSE strategic initiatives that align with the company's overarching business goals.
- Ensure compliance with a myriad of international, national, and local EHS regulations, driving a culture of safety excellence.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, proactively identifying hazards and engineering innovative solutions to prevent accidents and environmental harm.
- Oversee the creation and execution of robust corporate EHS policies, programs, and best practices across all global sites.
- Lead initiatives focused on environmental stewardship, including waste management and pollution prevention to significantly reduce environmental impact.
- Implement comprehensive audit and training programs to enhance safety protocols and ensure regulatory adherence.
- Champion enterprise-wide projects related to HSE, Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility, Business Continuity, and Crisis Management.

Additional Responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related science field or Master’s degree in Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related science field.
Work Experience
- 10 to 12 years of HSE experience,
- Proven track record in multi-site, multi-region, and multi-country HSE operations within an industrial setting.
- Fluent command of English, with advanced technical writing and presentation capabilities.
- Proficient in the creation, implementation, and auditing of HSE policies and procedures.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep understanding of local and international HSE laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Enhanced communication skills suitable for diverse audiences across different time zones.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence at all organizational levels, with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Experience interfacing with senior management and influencing corporate decision-making
