Job Summary
The Analyst, D&T, Production User Experience serves as a Business Analyst within the Digital & Transformation (D&T) team, supporting design and delivery of in-house applications integrated with SAP S/4HANA. This role focuses on improving the manufacturing domain user experience, ensuring that digital solutions are intuitive, data-driven, and aligned with end-to-end production operations.
The Analyst collaborates across IT, business, and development teams to translate manufacturing process requirements into functional specifications, maintain high UX standards, and leverage data analysis and emerging AI capabilities to drive process efficiency and intelligent automation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements abstraction sessions with business users and understand the day-in-life and/or issues faced by users and convert them into digital solutions to digitize the process or solve issues while creating the best experience for the users interacting with the applications.
- Assist to Partner with cross functional digital teams including (but not limited to) functional analysts, developers, designers, infrastructure engineers and testers to design and develop best in class experience solutions for the functional modules assigned.
- Engage with business users to vet digital solutions and help them perform testing and gain approvals for various applications.
- Be accountable for day-to-day support and continuous improvement for digital solutions for modules in your purview and meet the established SLAs.
- Act as a Business Analyst bridging business process experts, developers, and UX designers to deliver impactful digital solutions integrated with SAP S/4HANA.
- Analyze end-to-end manufacturing processes (e.g., Plan-to-Manufacture, Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, Quality Management, Plant Maintenance) and identify opportunities for optimization through UX and digital enhancements.
- Create and maintain core documentation including Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Test Evidence (TE), process maps, and user journey documentation.
- Interpret complex S/4HANA data structures and business logic to support functional requirement gathering, integrations, and UX validation.
- Apply data analysis methods and use SQL to extract and interpret system data for validation, defect analysis, and production insights.
- Partner with the UX team to design user interfaces that simplify manufacturing workflows and promote consistent user experiences.
- Support testing and validation phases, ensuring solutions meet both business and user requirements before deployment.
- Collaborate with development teams to align configurations, APIs, and business rules between front-end UX layers and SAP backend systems.
- Explore emerging technologies such as AI/ML, predictive analytics, and process automation to enhance manufacturing efficiency and user intelligence.
- Work cross-functionally with production, quality, planning, and logistics stakeholders to ensure holistic coverage of enterprise processes.
- Develop queries, dashboards, or basic reports using SQL or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) for decision support.\
- Provide knowledge transfer, support key users, and maintain continuous improvement practices across systems and applications.
Additional Responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, User Experience, Design, Business Administration, Engineering Management or equivalent required
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years Experience with business analysis, systems design, and testing required and
- Experience with full lifecycle digital application development – especially with integrations with SAP. required
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Functional knowledge of SAP Functional Modules (FI/CO, MM, EWM, PP, SD, HR etc.) is highly preferred. Knowledge of SAP functional configuration, data and transactions in primary module preferred
- Knowledge of software development / programming preferred; especially ability to troubleshoot application issues.
- Able to effectively communicate with business stakeholders across various geographies.
- Able to execute product development in AGILE methodology.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes & data.
- Organized and meticulous with commitment to accuracy and quality in all tasks.
- Highly enthusiastic about demonstrating superior customer service.
- Strong aptitude for learning and implementing new technology.
- Ability to work independently.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and integration points across production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA data models, transactions, and reporting concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL and capability to perform data extraction, validation, and analytical reporting.
- Ability to interpret and present data findings to inform design and process decisions.
- Knowledge of UX concepts and human-centered design principles for manufacturing applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical, functional, and end-user teams.
- Excellent communication skills—able to translate business concepts into technical documentation and vice versa.
- Proactive mindset with interest in AI, predictive analytics, and smart manufacturing applications.
- Expertise in documentation and experience creating FDS/TE artifacts following software development lifecycles.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
