This is an onsite position requiring the team memeber to be onsite 5 days a week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of all relevant shipping, customs, and foreign trade documentation (using SAP, MS Office, and customs software)
- Communication with freight forwarders and customs authorities, as well as digital communication with customs and compliance servers at the Eschweiler site
- Documentation of shipments from Germany within and outside the EU, including hazardous goods
- Responsibility for handling outgoing parcel services and sample shipments from the Germany site
- Execution of customs import clearance procedures
- Review and approval of freight invoices and customs tax assessments
- Monitoring and supporting the achievement of monthly revenue targets for the Eschweiler and Stolberg plants in the shipping department
- Support in customs-related processes and audits
Education
- Completed commercial vocational training with relevant experience in the shipping/logistics field
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Very good knowledge of shipping and customs regulations, including confident use of IT-supported customs and compliance systems
- Good knowledge of foreign trade regulations, particularly in the finance area for monitoring activities related to the German Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) and the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis)
- Solid knowledge of MS Office and SAP (MM/SD modules)
- Experience with customs software applications from AEB GmbH is desirable
- Valid Class B driver’s license
- Teamwork skills and flexibility
- Good written and spoken English skills
