This position is Monday - Friday 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM with a weekend rotation once every three weeks. Note: On weekend rotations you would get Thursday / Friday off.

Job Summary:
The Process Technician will be responsible to perform a variety of process implementation services, including mold setting, inputting cycles in presses, machine startup and operation, mold preventative maintenance, process monitoring, and documentation of process changes. Upon completion of successful start-up, transfer the process to the operator and inform the Process/Production Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the injection molding process definition for all jobs.
- Redefine those processes that do not produce to known product criteria through statistical analysis of process data.
- Properly document the new process definition.
- Adjust the process for correction of quality issues.
- Properly document correction.
- Follow all processing procedures.
- Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Interacts with customers on project issues.
- Sets tooling and applies auxiliary equipment to tooling.
- Performs all prerequisites for starting a production tool.
- Place process in operating mode after approvals, and transfer process to production.
- Preventative maintenance of tools.
- Needs to be able to perform mixing duties as defined in the Mixing Technician job description on the off shifts or when the mixing technician is not here/on vacation.
- Actively participate and comply with all West HSE programs and regulations.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment in accordance with West 5S program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of variety of production equipment, and hand tools
- Detailed analysis and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to interpret work instructions
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years of injection molding – machine start up and shut down – mold pull / set activities
- Associate’s Degree in Plastic & Polymer Education
- Powered industrial equipment certification
- RJG or similar injection molding training
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description

Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 or more pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- The employee will be required to work 40 hours a week and overtime when needed. Weekend work may be required. In addition, employee is subject to call-in work.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Hearing protection required on the manufacturing floor.
- Exposure to heat and cold.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starter able to work successfully and efficiently with minimal direction or supervision.
- Job requires mental skill or ability such as communication, decision making (sometimes quick), interpreting data, reading or writing, organization, problem solving, understand direction, etc.
