The Williamsport West site is currently recrutiing for a Material Handler to join their team!


 We have 2nd shift-8 hour shift, M-F (3:30-11:30pm). *Some weekends are required. Pay rate is $20.00 with a $1.00 shift diff


In the role of the Material Handler responsibilities include: Control flow of products and materials to and from manufacturing areas. Ship, receive, label, and properly store products and materials. Load and unload trucks. Operate industrial forklifts in a safe and professional manner. Transport supplies, tooling and equipment as required. Maintain high accuracy level on paperwork and electronic transactions / records.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production Supply and Warehousing
    • Supply manufacturing areas with pallets, work in process product, packaging supplies, lining material, and other miscellaneous materials.
    • Maintain FIFO (first-in first-out) system for supplying materials.
    • Warehouse product, unused materials, supplies, and other items or equipment as required.
    • Maintain acceptable conditions of warehoused items, orderly stock placement, and ensure products remain damage-free.
  • Shipping and Receiving
    • Pull, label, and prepare product for shipment.
    • Ensure accuracy of prepared shipments and all customer requirements are met.
    • Load product, materials, or equipment on freight carriers ensuring all are damage-free prior to shipping.
    • Unload inbound materials, equipment, and supplies ensuring all are damage-free prior to acceptance.  Verify accuracy of paperwork, label, and put away materials.
  •  Utility
    • Assemble and supply cardboard totes to the production floor.
    • Assemble and supply scrap totes to manufacturing areas. Collect and process scrap for trash or recycle as needed. Load scrap trailer.
    • Remove trash from production floor and empty dumpsters in the trash compactor.
    • Remove scrapped cardboard from production floor, load and empty cardboard compactor. Process scrap cardboard for recycle.
    • Stock the supply carts on the production floor.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Perform necessary paperwork and electronic transactions / records applicable to actions performed. Maintain high level of accuracy.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Material Control Supervisor
    • Actively participate and comply with all West HSE programs and regulations.
    • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment in accordance with West 5S program.
    • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial setting
  • Must have current or previous forklift experience


Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee will be required to work 40 hours a week and overtime when needed. Weekend work may be required. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.  Hearing protection required on the manufacturing floor. 
  • Exposure to heat and cold.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starter able to work successfully and efficiently with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Job requires mental skill or ability such as communication, decision making (sometimes quick), interpreting data, reading or writing, organization, problem solving, understand direction, etc.
