2nd Shift Position
Job Summary:
The planning and execution of all production schedules through use of administrative resources, communication with technical coordinator of his/her logical and timely evaluation of administrative deviations and the implementation of systematic corrections. This communication will result in correct coordination between all administrative, planning, and technical functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safety, health and hazardous communications. Must be a member of plant safety committee.
- Coordinate administrative activities for shift to include monitoring of quality, production, human resource allocation, supply and housekeeping.
- Plan daily activities of administrative group and communicate priorities for technical group.
- Implement plan to meet daily production schedule through accountability of administrative resources and technical group.
- Reporting of quality and production through the Mattec System or other information system.
- Basic troubleshooting of the Mattec System or other information system.
- Perform routine visual inspection of work areas for unusual occurrences, safety hazards, housekeeping, work space organization and generate work orders where appropriate.
- Creation and maintenance of a positive work environment.
- Understanding and communication of West’s philosophies and expectations through group meetings.
- Coordination of training and certification on all related direct labor procedures.
- Adjust direct labor staffing to support demand and maintain direct labor budget.
- Ensure compliance with established Company and Plant policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed. Define and document incidents.
- Assist in preparation of annual operation and capital budgets.
- Lead special projects as directed and assigned.
- Participate in cost and process improvement project teams.
- Communication and participation in the achievement of the plant 5-up goals.
- Actively participate and comply with all West HSE programs and regulations.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment in accordance with West 5S program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting; related experience in diagnosing and maintaining injection molding and injection blow molding machines and technical management.
- Minimum 1-3 years of management experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be familiar with computers and various software programs.
- Familiarity with SAP, Master Control or similar systems and databases, a plus.
Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see and use hands and finger to operate office equipment (ie phones, computers, copies, etc.).
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from offices and building sites.
- The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 40 pounds.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles.
- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and or equipment.
- The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet. The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is moderate to loud. Hearing protection is required at all times in the manufacturing work environment.
- Job requires mental skill or ability such as communication, decision making (sometimes quick), interpreting data, reading or writing, organization, problem solving, understand direction, supervise and speak publicly, etc.
