Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager will develop and implement a supply chain which supports the commercial objectives of the business and delivers a best in class, cost effective service to our customers Responsible for the Production Planning, driving aggressively on-time delivery of finished goods, by ensuring an effective management of inventor and by optimising all shipping/customer services activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the local Procurement team (set objectives, guide and engage the team, train, follow-up, provide feedback, prepare appraisal and manage performance and delivery).
  • Responsible for the Production Planning, Raw Material Planning/Sourcing, Raw material & Finished Goods Warehouse as well as the local Procurement function
  • Managing the Plant Supply Chain activities with the focus on achieving the targeted OTIF (On-Time in Full) for customer deliveries or deliveries to other plants of West Pharma as requested by the internal/external customers.
  • Manage a proper balance between financial targets, production targets (low production variability, high utilisation of equipment, good OEE performance – e.g. reduce losses through set-up times) and customer service/requirements
  • Managing the sourcing of raw materials and ensure a proper supply to the related production departments to enable in-time production as scheduled
  • Continuous controlling & monitoring of major KPI´s (OTIF customer & supplier, Schedule Adherence, Inventory DOS, Late List, Lead Time), analyze root-causes of deviations and implement actions for improvement
  • Build-up an agile Supply Chain approach in terms of flexible shift models, implement processes guaranteeing higher flexibility (e.g. FTO), flexible packaging lines and other related actions
  • Continuous improvement of all related Supply Chain Processes

Close cooperation with Production and Quality Department to ensure, that a high level of customer service can be kept at any time

  • Ensure a high-level of proactivity throughout the entire Plant SCM team: monitor delivery situation (compared to customer request) at any time, highlight foreseeable risks and discuss within the Plant Mgmt. team, build-up proposals to prevent, reduce or limit the risk impact, escalate foreseeable risks to upper management, if a local solution cannot be identified in time
  • Manage appropriate inventory levels on raw materials, semi-finished and finished goods. Carry-out regular analysis on the inventory situation, the root-causes and derive measures for continuous improvement
  • Support the monthly target setting and forecasting process in terms of plant output, inventory and shipment planning
  • Manage Warehouse processes & personnel and carry-out regular inventory according to West standards
  • Regular check of all SCM relevant Master Data Settings in SAP R/3, SAP SNP (Recipes, work centers, pools, material master…) and MES
  • Evaluate performance from internal/external performance and initiate/support appropriate actions for continuous improvement
  • Organization and execution of trainings for the own team; identification of training requirements for the own team; planning and evaluation of the personnel development activities in line with the company targets
  • Apply global SCM standards and processes
  • Cooperation with other West plants for identifying and realizing synergies to contribute to company targets
  • Support the creation and the controlling of Budgets for the own area of responsibility. Create reports and analysis on a regular basis as requested by Plant Management or Corporate Functions in order to support the regular Budget-, Review- and Planning Meetings of West.
  • Demonstrates the leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management system and with respect to customer focus as outlined in the ISO9001/15378 standards.
  • Act in accordance with the company’s Guiding Principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Compliance to all local site Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
  • Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures and corporate policies

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Master's in Business, Business Engineering, SCM

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 7+ years of experience in relevant Supply Chain function
  • Experience in leading Supply Chain teams
  • Experienced in Lean Manufacturing concepts & approaches with special focus on production planning
  • High process affinity with excellent analytical and conceptual skills
  • Design and application knowledge of SAP supply chain tools, with special focus on SAP ERP
  • Supply Chain Optimization along the Product Life-Cycle
  • Target driven and result oriented
  • Experience in a cGMP environment.
  • Strong competence in IT
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels within the Organization, suppliers, customers and external contractors
