Job Summary:  Performs a variety of routine administrative, technical, and professional work in analyzing and administering various components of the environmental, health and safety program.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with ensuring safety compliance to State and federal health and safety standards
  • Schedules, coordinates, and helps facilitate monthly safety committee activities
  • Help execute monthly safety audits and emergency response drills
  • Provide administrative support by inputting data pertaining to Safety and Audits
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training required for all employees in all areas of health and safety standards.
  • Coordinate the purchase, distribution, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Oversee PPE voucher program (prescription eyewear, safety shoes)
  • Assist with the maintenance of online system for Safety Data Sheets, (SDS). 
  • Assist in answering questions regarding information on SDSs, and/or researching with manufacturer of product if needed.
  • Maintain First Aid Supplies
  • Assist HSE Manager with detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis
  • Maintain communication with all levels of the organization to ensure that safety and training guidelines are being followed
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation and environment at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

  • Education: High School or Equivalent / Associates Degree preferred  
  • Experience: 3-5 years preferred
  • Related experience in a manufacturing or pharma environment.
  • OSHA General Industry Certificate or equivalent preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have knowledge of OSHA, Federal, State and local safety laws and regulations. 
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports and required documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to track information and conduct audits
  • Ability to work irregular hours on occasion to support 24/7 operation
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Ability to evaluate and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE
  • Ability to remain calm and cool-headed in the event of an emergency.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Competent in the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.


Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally travel locally.
