This position has a day shift, and night shift opening.

Day shift is 5:00 AM - 6:00 PM 3 days one week, 4 days the following week.

Night shift is 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM 3 days one week, 4 days the following week.

Job Summary:

Maintain, troubleshoot and continuously improve facility and manufacturing equipment to help achieve facility’s business goals and objectives. Work with engineering in design and installation of equipment.  Assist operations with setup and processing to set parameters.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe working facility inside and out.
  • Maintain IMM, Assembly Lines, Automation, Facility, and Auxiliary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment; take necessary steps to document changes.
  • Evaluate existing electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and/or systems, looking for methods to improve performance, efficiency, reliability or accuracy.
  • The ability to program PLC, Robots, and control sensors.
  • Complete the required preventive maintenance on equipment and documenting the work.
  • Fabricate capabilities, weld, machine tool, hand tools, read and draw prints, and program.
  • Work with the engineering teams to:
    • Inform on changes and repairs to equipment to write a RA.
    • Implement new processes & equipment
    • Improve existing processes and equipment
    • Optimize molding/assembly/facility equipment functions
    • Provide modifications or improvements to existing procedures and documentation
  • Provide training in skills and abilities of expertise.
  • Implement/execute preventative maintenance measures
  • Provide technical advice or assistance, as directed by supervisor, to other West Pharmaceutical Services engineering personnel or to maintenance personnel.
  • Assist other groups on individual customer quality problems that relate to the equipment.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste within the production environment.
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation and environment at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Trade School Degree
  • Experience: 6-10 years
  • Degree relating to PLC programing, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems OR related experience with similar equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of coursework and/or experience with hydraulics, calibration, and injection molding machines
  • Experience with cGMP, ISO, and medical device manufacturing preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Able to do PLC programing
  • Able to troubleshoot electrical controls systems. 24v to 480v
  • Able to fabricate, weld-TIG MIG, and use lathes and mills as needed.
  • Work independently or as a group.
  • Ability to demonstrate and communicate problem solving process.
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

 

 

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required to complete assignments if necessary.
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from various locations within facility. 
  • If specifically necessitated by customer requirements, must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues. 
  • Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 150 feet. 
  • The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 50 pounds  
  • Limited travel requirements.
