Job Summary:

In this role, you will repair or remanufacture worn parts or damaged machine parts. Rough out and finish spare parts for dies and assembly machines. Help machine mechanic troubleshoot manufacturing problems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn from the more experienced Machinists & Tool Makers.
  • Clean machines and toolroom equipment.
  • Must be competent with lathe work, milling, drilling, sawing and arbor press. Grinding parts as needed.
  • Must be able to read blueprint.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Must observe all good housekeeping practices.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
  • Safety glasses, hairnet, face/beard cover, gloves, safety shoes and hearing protection as required


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Education: High School or equivalent
  • Experience: 3+ years general machinist experience preferred. 2+ years apprenticeship or vocational tech degree.
  • Must possess an acute attention to detail and be able to communicate
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Willing to work overtime as needed

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time


Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 35 lb. box and move a distance of 10 yards
  • Manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to express and exchange ideas with employees
  • Must be able to build strong relationships with direct reports and peers
