Job Summary:

The incumbent will support the drive for West as the scientific destination for customers in the injectable containment and delivery solutions. This role will require to support key development accounts and other customers, offering technical services and support over West’s portfolio. Assist Accounts Managers in identifying and closing sales opportunities. The incumbent also supports West in understanding and addressing the evolving regulatory requirements, in particular in fulfilling the China DMF and also gather scientific insights in assisting West’s preparedness in meeting the requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Supports Filing in China DMF:
    • Follow up with internal and external labs for progress of assigned stability studies for filing in China DMF.
    • Monitor the progress of stability studies and ensure reports are issued timely
  • Able to co-related West’s portfolio with the effect of the evolving regulatory trends and specifications over its introduction in China.
  • Lead West customers (may include some Key/Global accounts) in technical matters relating to:
    • Drug-closure compatibility
    • Packaging recommendations
    • Component processing
    • Functionality
    • Product/packaging development
    • Extractable/leachables and other test requirements 
    • Complementary systems, such as devices, safety administration systems, etc.
    • Other information as needed to help assure West products will meet their requirements
  • Act as a technical interface between customers, Sales and West functions (i.e. Analytical Laboratories). 
  • Identify trends in industry and assess evolving customer needs to develop, design and conduct technical studies of West products and technologies for generating and supporting West Technical Reports, West Technical Bulletins and commercial literature. Includes assisting the Scientific Communications team in defining, writing and completing internal studies.
  • Promote, present and actively participate in growing West business:  
  • Prepare technical presentations and training materials
  • Lead technical seminars / symposiums with customers
  • Educate customers on product applications
  • Support West digital growth journey.
  • Work closely with all other members of SA/TCS team and other functions to assure SA&TCS goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Contribute blogs and knowledge articles to support West’s scientific leadership
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field (Chemistry/Biology/Pharmaceutical related major) and 2-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • Minimum 3  Years of experience of experience in technical support, scientific affairs, analytical laboratory, or research & development.
