In this role, we are looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to join our Global Operations team in Scottsdale Operations Center manufacturing team in Scottsdale, Arizona. In this role, you will be part of a cross functional team supporting global medical device manufacturing.

 

 You will apply industrial engineering practices and contribute to Lean improvements, data analysis, capacity plans and facility layout design across multiple operations. The selected candidate will work closely with the cross functional Value Stream teams, to design and develop Operations methods intended to continuously improve manufacturing system performance. The role will also be maintaining routings and contribute to any standard cost analysis on an as needed basis.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Apply industrial engineering fundamentals for process improvement and problem solving at both a process and system level
  • Lead capacity planning process by managing data collection, capacity modeling, analyzing and prioritizing capacity improvements
  • Use simulation tools to perform "what-if" analysis to support planning for the impact of changes in operations
  • Lead the incorporation of appropriate Lean tool usage such as 5S, time study, line balancing and standard work into the daily functions of the Value Stream teams.
  • Develop facility operations design and manage layout change control implementation projects
  • Optimize product and material flow and reduce lead times by applying Lean manufacturing methodologies and work standards
  • Develop manufacturing process designs and manage implementation projects
  • Interact with the manufacturing and business teams to define key performance metrics and create systems for monitoring performance
  • Align and influence individuals, global teams, businesses, and 3rd party business partners to project goals and objective
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Management
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant engineering or operations role within a manufacturing environment preferably in Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical manufacturing background.
  • Solid knowledge of Industrial Engineering, Lean manufacturing fundamentals, process data analytics with the ability to apply this knowledge to manufacturing and business processes
  • Experience updating layouts using tools such as ACAD.
  • Operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization and execute quickly and efficiently on initiatives
  • Self-initiator, ability to work with ambiguity, multi-task, and passion to grow and develop

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Medical Device industry or regulated industry
  • Certification in project management (e.g., CAPM, PMP, PgMP)
  • Prioritize projects in line with business objectives by collaborating with leadership and additional stakeholders
  • Sound business judgment, ability to influence others with a proven track record of taking ownership, leading projects, and driving results in a cross-functional environment
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times

  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time
