Job Summary:

Order raw materials and execute the purchasing function for raw materials and inventoried supplies. Generate orders to suppliers and production. Support Receiving warehouse with a variety of tasks, as well as identifying problems. Responsible for the performance of procurement activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of technical activities relating to the purchase of materials and supplies for production.
  • Pull orders from warehouse and prepare for shipment. Verify correct item number and stock quantity.
  • Unload daily shipments and examine incoming shipments. Check on rejects damaged and report issues to Manager. Ensure products are in good condition and the correct quantity.
  • Receive and process all incoming materials by following process and procedures.
  • Pull sample for materials as required for Corporate Lab Testing. Complete process on the same day.
  • Follow up lab results daily and update approved materials and release production from quarantine.
  • Mark material with stock location, inventory stock and bin location.
  • Coordinate and correspond with couriers and discuss all logistical operations. Make arrangements for delivery or pick up of shipments (strip stock and raw materials).
  • Work independently in the absence of specific instructions.
  • Perform and Reconcile Cycles Counts for Raw Materials.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the purchasing principles, procedures, and terminology in procurement area.
  • Knowledge of the calculation to convert the materials unit. (Lbs. to Kilos)
  • Establish work priorities and be able to work in an environment with changing priorities and help other coworkers in warehouse with duties in the Receiving area.
  • Use good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned based on business needs.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 Years of experience
  • Strong clerical with math skills and purchasing experience. Ability to coordinate truck services/sales services, operate forklift. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Previous shipping experience preferred. Some Understanding of MRP systems.
  • Will be required to obtain Forklift certification.

  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel <05% of the time

 

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Good communication skills to interact with others in a positive manner.
  • Must be able to understand direction and adhere to established procedures.
  • Must be able to lift continuously 50 lbs. - 100 lbs.
