Job Summary:

Manages the incoming flow of raw materials and parts to meet production requirements and on-time shipments.  Manages purchases for the Business Unit to efficiently plan and produce components according to customer requirements.  Maintains adequate inventory levels.  Procures and expedites materials and services.  Obtains quotes, generates and processes requisitions as applicable, and maintains related records.  Plans and establishes production work schedules to meet delivery times.  Initiates work, and purchase orders and follows up on work in progress to ensure conformance to schedule.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helps Direct material purchases; purchases related tools, equipment and supplies in accordance with the company policy; generates purchase order numbers. Negotiates to lower overall material costs.
  • Helps Establish and maintain all master files with the coordination of the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Assists in Schedules production and samples; determines run times; ensures the on-time delivery of finished goods. Assists in the resolution of internal and external complaints of purchased raw material.
  • Controls the level of raw material and finished goods inventory and effectively updates and tracks supplier on-time delivery in conjunction with annual supplier performance evaluations.
  • Establishes internal and external relationships to ensure production efforts meet the customer requirements.
  • Generate MRP (material requirements plan) to assist in determining material requirements for production.
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Minimum four to five years related experience.
  • Must have experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and purchasing functions.
  • Experience with cGMP purchasing practices and ISO experience preferred.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • ERP/SAP system proficiency.
  • Medical Device Manufacturing experience.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy always.
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy always.


Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to _­5__% of the time


Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required to complete assignments if necessary.
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from offices and building sites.
  • If specifically necessitated by customer requirements, must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues. 
  • Hearing ability should be enough to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 150 feet. 
  • The ability to be able to lift and carry various items up to 50 pounds for manufacturing positions or 30 pounds for administrative positions is required
