Job Summary:
The Snr, Manager, Eng., Facilities and Main. will implement and support the development of strategic processes which support the commercial objectives of the business, enable, and deliver quality products each time every time. Will be responsible for specifying, procuring, building / installing and validating rooms, equipment, and processes. Drive the development and implementation of the plant’s overall preventive and predictive maintenance programs for both equipment and facilities. While maximizing operational uptime and fostering continuous improvement culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the local Engineering team (set objectives, guide, and engage the team, train, follow-up, provide feedback, prepare appraisal, and manage performance and delivery).
- As a key member of the site senior leadership team. Provide direction, guidance, for the Engineering function and critical input into overall site strategic vision, culture.
- Manage and provide sound engineering support with hands on expertise and practices in projects from conception through production. Interact with engineering, management, site and corporate team members and/or vendors to develop engineering specifications for new equipment or required process improvements; produce, modify, and maintain drawings; maintain project timelines; continuously evaluate projects from the tasks, resource and costs perspective, ensure delivery of the projects on time and within budget; and actively install, start-up, and validate equipment or tooling.
- Provide engineering guidance to assure plant, machinery, and processes are optimized.
- Manage and coordinate plant and capital projects, properly document work, and maintain history of projects in appropriate project files.
- Research and analyze data such a vendor design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Provide plant maintenance services to support operations and manufacturing and deliver service and performance in line with company targets & standards.
- Oversee and direct maintenance personnel to manage plant & equipment maintenance for reactive and planned works. Deliver preventative maintenance schedule to improve technical availability of assets in line with company targets.
- Responsible for developing people and training to maximize operational equipment uptime, implement new technologies and apply best practice in maintenance methods and systems
- Inspect and evaluate physical plant and related equipment to manage asset life cycle in support of operations.
- Coordinate with outside contractors to perform service activities, repairs, preventive maintenance on plant and equipment
- Utilise strategic planning approach to continue to evolve the site towards an agreed future state.
- Oversee and direct provision of all related maintenance supplies, plant spare parts.
- Lead and foster an environment of continuous improvement and providing leadership in this area by identifying and implementing lean, efficiency, cost reduction, quality, and service level improvements
- Mange the teams’ performance, conduct performance reviews, recruit team, put in place training and development plans, addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner.
- Monitor workload and manage resources to support company targets.
- To ensure that all necessary regulatory service, permits, permissions, registers & calibrations certifications are controlled & up to date.
- Ensures work and equipment compliance, certification to all related regulatory & statutory directives, standards & guidance’s.
- Take a lead role in the introduction and development of maintenance strategies and management systems company-wide.
- Manage and coordinate competing priorities with key stake holders to maximise plant performance and availability.
- Direct the communication of all planned and unplanned works with key stake holders in timely manner.
- Limit impact of any plant failure to key stake holders by communicating and reacting responsibly and in prompt and efficient manner.
- Maintains plant & equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently while delivering this service on time, on budget and in a safe and responsible manner without adverse impact to site performance.
- Plan and maintain all relevant equipment’s to schedule and budget plan.
- Deliver to set KPI performance level as per requirements
- Demonstrates the leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management system and with respect to customer focus as outlined in the ISO9001/15378 standards.

- Compliance to all local site Environmental, Health and Safety regulations
- Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s in engineering or other related discipline
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 8+ years’ experience in a maintenance / engineering role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in rubber or pharmaceutical operations.
- Good knowledge of LEAN and 6 sigma manufacturing principles
- Experience with continuous improvement of processes and validations of processes/equipment
- cGMP experience
- Self-motivated, results- and solution-oriented personality.
- Ability to combine and apply modern engineering / maintenance and manufacturing concepts to meet complex tasks.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and management skills.
- Ability to successfully collaborate with all levels within the organizational.
- Excellent written and communication skills - regularly presents on KPI’s, benchmarking results to all management levels.
- Proficient in planning to maximize resources and reduce expenditure.
