Job Summary:
The Sr. Solution Architect, Digital &Transformation (D&T) , Infrastructure will be part of the Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for Server, Back-up, VMWare, and Storage Administration.  The individual will provide technical and administrative services in highly complex Compute, Storage and Backup environments.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyse complex hardware and software issues associated with backup-related technologies, including Avamar, Data Domain, Data Protection Advisor, and Enterprise Vault.
  • Implement new data protection solutions, manage change, and add backup policies.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux Operating System Environment.
  • Analyse and resolve problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software. 
  • Monitor systems performance and ensures compliance with infrastructure and security standards
  • Primary point responsible for the overall operability, resiliency, performance, and capacity of owned production services. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering Leads to execute strategic changes in the infrastructure based on the product roadmap.
  • Ability to analyse the current state of the infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Propose design changes in a large-scale, mission-critical storage environment.
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Demonstrate domain knowledge in storage, data management, and data protection technologies and be able to apply the knowledge of these methodologies to the storage, protection, retention, reclamation, and disaster recovery.
  • Work closely with external vendors and other personnel to optimize and facilitate the best solution to meet the needs of the business.
  • Experience in administering VMWare Horizon View (VDI) 7.x environment.
  • Experience in one or more scripting languages like VMware PowerCLI, Python, Terraform, etc
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows servers, applications, and services (on-prem and cloud-based).
  • Administer systems and servers related to the network to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain server administrative authorization to have policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the processes and documentation for server management (e.g. asset, capacity, change, configuration, continuity, life cycle, problem, release, vendor, and definitive media library) for effective processes.

 

Education and Experience:

  • 6+ years of related work experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent experience. 
  • Preferred but not required: Agile & Scrum Certification, ITIL, working in an Azure environment

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience administering EMC Avamar/Data Domain, VMWare vSphere 6.x environments, VMware ESX and VMware vSAN, Veeam, NetApp SAN, Comvault backup solutions
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working in virtualized environments, preferably VMware
  • Solid understanding of modern networking principles and practices
  • Experience with desktop support Windows, and Apple
  • Willing and able to continuously upgrade skills, abilities, and knowledge
  • Work effectively independently and collaboratively
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure
  • Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards
  • Participate in an On-Call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours.
  • Good Communication and Analytical skills
  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies always.
  • Willingness to travel globally
