Job Summary:

A business leader responsible for developing robust growth strategies and marketing plans for Biologics market unit. Expand and promote West’s Biologics business, establishing West as a market leader in Biologics market by developing and implementing strategies (organic and inorganic), acting as a thought leader for West’s Biologics Business (both internally and externally), and working with all aspects of West’s organization to achieve participation and value growth within our customers’ product portfolio.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Program Development and Execution

  • Drive creation of an overall strategy and strategic plan for the Biologics business, and coordinate activities to ensure effective implementation and execution of these plans
  • Identify and support advancement of inorganic growth strategies
  • Identify and define opportunities to expand the Biologics business based on economic and market trends, with new offering definitions and value capture models
  • Direct responsibility for development and execution of new offerings, including collaboration on insight development, offering definitions, pricing strategies, and execution models to meet defined business and financial objectives
  • Direct market research; identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns as foundation for Biologics growth strategies
  • Develop strategic business recommendations based on conceptual analysis and quantitative findings, utilizing multiple points of view and sources, including
    • Industry, customer & competitor trends that impact the current and future strategies
    • Demographics, prices, & distribution channels
  • Interpret data for benchmarking and forecasting of strategic initiatives
  • Proactively identify, define and solve problems that may impact the overall implementation and success of the Biologics strategies
  • Analyze customer data, purchasing trends, & campaign responses to evaluate effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Operates as an effective team member within the Biologics business, and interfaces with all relevant functions to ensure alignment

 

 Market Facing Program Messaging

  • Responsible for management of internal and customer facing program messaging and content
  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure effective execution of Biologics offerings and achievement of business objectives.  As needed, present programs to customers and market influencers

 

 

 

 

Segment Marketing and Communications

  • Maintain and enhance the overall West brand. Engage effectively and continuously with key stakeholders to generate insights as well as develop and validate product value, e.g.: Research; Customer Advisory Boards; External stakeholder interviews; and any other internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with product management to ensure effective positioning, branding and communication of specific Biologics offerings, and drive activities where necessary to ensure success of Biologics strategies
  • Support communications and promotional plans to optimize the presence of West in the market, and with our customers
  • Ensure an effective eCommerce to support the Biologics business, and work with global communications to develop, maintain and enhance content
  • Develop digital and print materials/tools required to support regions/countries to effectively implement Biologics strategies.
  • Represent West at industry events as needed
  • Manage lead generation and conversion metrics
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's in relevant technical engineering or business /marketing discipline, MBA preferred
  • Experience: 12+ years of experience of proven industry track record in Sales and/or Marketing

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prefer 5 plus years minimum related pharmaceutical, Biotech and/or medical industry experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Convert market data and findings into strategic business recommendations through understandable tables, graphs, presentations
  • Ability to develop tools that will support Sales in product value demonstration and communication
  • Previous experience with offering and strategic plan development
  • Previous marketing experience gained within a multinational organization
  • Previous experience structuring and managing marketing programs in a B2B environment
  • Previous experience managing multidisciplinary projects through execution
  • Market research with strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Able to operate with significant autonomy; self-starter and a decision maker
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver high quality, accurate work within the required timeline
  • Interpersonal and influencing skills to foster collaboration and success in a matrix, global environment
  • Formulation and implementation of strategic direction
  •    Team player actively contributing to positive team spirit

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, including internationally
