Job Summary:

The Project Manager, Strategic Product Services has overall responsibility for managing West Global Product Portfolio. Areas of responsibility will include overall commercial program management and working with global product management and market unit functions. This includes but is not limited to, Emerging Markets Strategy Deployment (China Domestic and Import/Export Market), Product Launch, Brand Launch, and Product Services Projects (West Change Control activities, Portfolio and Network Optimization, etc.).

The Project Manager will ensure execution of large scale and impacting programs remain on track financially, scope is managed, and quality is delivered. They will be responsible for identifying and managing cross project dependencies, critical items, risks, and issues. This person will also be responsible for communicating at all levels of the organization and recognizing and engaging key stakeholders quickly and early in the process.  This role will work with Product Management & Product Services to improve methods and processes related to program and project management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive transparency of program workloads, financial, commitments, and expectations.
  • Manage and plan assigned programs as assigned by the Product Management & Marketing OPS team.
  • Utilize a program/project management tool allowing the tracking of deliverable completion and overall project completion.
  • Monitor resource needs and issues, work closely with resource managers to develop action plans to ensure program commitment remain on track.
  • Manage cross project and program dependencies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, resource managers, and other senior commercial level executives.
  • Champion PMO process and methodologies; develop tools and techniques where needed to assist technical team deliverables
  • Work with other project managers throughout the organization to improve Wests planning and execution on projects and programs.
  • Support sponsors with the preparation of business cases, plans, budgets, and artifacts necessary to comply with the Project Management Process, along with supporting the overall program objectives.
  • Communicate Product Management & Product Services key messages, goals, and objectives to functional team members in their Product Platform, Local Geographies and/or Market Units.
  • Help drive the adoption of Project Management process globally and actively work with the project sponsors and their stakeholders to successfully ensure a consistent delivery for all projects globally.
  • Lead/support the development of business cases on assigned programs and track ROI for business initiatives including cost, benefits, and risk.
  • Ensure programs are planned properly, including financials, resourcing, scheduling, deliverables, and the business case, in support of a quality deliverable.
  • Define and drive change management and communication activities that support assigned programs.
  • Analyze, forecast, and report the program budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience
  • Track record of successfully managing global large scale impacting projects
  • Knowledge of GxP requirements and demonstrated experience managing projects or programs in the pharma manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple globally dispersed individuals and disciplines. Must possess the ability to influence others without direct authority
  • Senior level management experience with direct reports and/or matrix project teams 
  • Experience and capability at delivering written and verbal reports to senior and executive management (CEO, CFO, CIO, other functional SVPs, and their direct reports).

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working experience with Microsoft Project Server to manage projects or programs
  • Microsoft product suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI)
  • SAP, SAPBI
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time
