Job Summary:

The Manager, Market Modeling, Analytics & Insights will contribute to West's vision to enhance its global market knowledge and insights by leading efforts in the improvement and application of a Global Demand Model for market sizing, market forecasting, and market dynamics. This role will help drive the tracking, reporting and analysis of the industry drug product pipeline including West’s participation in the pipeline. This role is integral to supporting West's growth planning process through forecast modeling. Partnering with key stakeholders, this highly collaborative role will help to translate data into appropriate narratives that articulate needed business insights.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts around the application of advanced analytics to deliver commercially focused insights and solutions that enable scenario planning, market sizing, and determining financial impact. Clearly communicate and translate those insights to internal stakeholders across the organization.
  • Partner with the Market Intelligence team to architect the integration of internal and external sources, creating the ability to track opportunities in the pipeline, help automate West involvement on approved drugs, and pull all associated information into SAP.
  • Identify, quantify, and present key trends across the industry and develop predictive models and forecasts using structured and unstructured data. You will develop data procedures and policies, and work closely with various departments to collect, prepare, organize, protect, and analyze data assets while ensuring the company meets industry best practices.
  • You will analyze trends in financial data, population health, and other healthcare sources to implement improvements to forecasts, market analyses, and ensure best-in-class insights.
  • Cultivate transparent and robust working relationships across the organization, ensuring open communication about the measurement of financial, data-driven, and impact performance milestones against stated goals.
  • Lead collaboration with Digital & Transformation (D&T) to ensure outputs and deliverables align with Commercial needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Education or Equivalent Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or other quantitative field or equivalent experience
  • Experience:
    • 8-10 years of experience in statistical analysis and data analytics

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Bayesian principles preferred
  • Familiarity with procedures, shrinkage methods such as lasso, logistic regression, ROC curves and confusion matrix, resampling techniques, boosting, neural networks & deep learning
  • CRM/SAP/Power BI
  • Must be business savvy and have the ability to grasp and teach novel business models and strategic plans of the enterprise.
  • Highly adept and capable of building and maintaining trusting partnerships and relationships across the board with cross-functional partners, company vendors, and customers.
  • Proficient in statistical methods, applied econometrics, economic theory of behavior.
  • Skilled in Python, Statistical Computing with R, SAS, or other programming languages.
  • Strong knowledge in multiple regression, cross validation, variable selection, knowledge of decision tree and random forest approaches, knowledge of logit and probit models
  • Must have demonstrable experience in predictive modeling using automatic tools (classroom exercises allowed)
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all times.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time, including internationally
