Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Team has an essential role within West´s Global Engineering team to support the company’s growth by providing state of the art production equipment and continuous improvement of the existing equipment to secure West´s technical leadership role in the market.

 

As a part of this team you will specify, implement, and improve our equipment for the pharmaceutical packaging processes and automated material handling in our global production facilities. You will work closely with other engineering functions - facility engineering, process engineering, procurement, and quality groups.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise for rubber molding and trimming equipment to internal stakeholders while working with vendors to develop engineering specifications for new equipment or improvements on existing equipment
  • Across the global network, your task is to drive forward the standardization and harmonization of our production equipment and documentation
  • In collaboration with Process Engineering, you will analyze and evaluate existing systems and processes as well as identify non-/value-added activities to determine design challenges
  • You will coordinate and execute all necessary GMP related validations and process engineering evaluations
  • Being the technical point of contact with your equipment vendors and suppliers, you will assign tasks, actions and monitor equipment deliverables including FAT, SAT etc.
  • As the person responsible for defined manufacturing equipment in our global organization, you will set standards based on industry best practices and trends
  • You will take the lead on equipment project management from the URS issue to PQ by applying current practices including GMP conform documentation
  • To determine feasibility of design or application, you will research and analyze data such as vendor design proposals, specifications, and manuals

 

Your Qualifications:

  • To succeed in this role, you will have at least Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering - Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial is preferred
  • You bring 5 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment as well as experience in the field of hydraulic presses
  • Proven project management skills, including experience in managing equipment projects regarding specification, procurement, installation and qualification round off your profile
  • You combine outstanding interpersonal and excellent client-facing skills
  • With the ability to think outside the box, you see technical challenges as an opportunity to drive changes and to show off strong trouble shooting skills
  • To work across our global organization as well with different functions, you have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. A second language would be an asset
