Position Summary:

 

As Business Development Manager you will be tasked with the strategic initiative to expand West’s sales and marketing share with emerging pharmaceutical companies and manage accounts in Europe. You are responsible to grow the business profitability through successful selling and promotion of both core and value-added products and services.  Additionally, you will develop a thorough understanding of both new and assigned accounts’ business objectives, products, and related market activities. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • In your role, you will research emerging pharmaceutical companies who would benefit from West’s product and services offering as well as identify key decision-makers
  • To secure short-and long-term objectives and relationships with our customers, you play a vital role in recognizing overall strategic objectives, organizational and customers’ needs
  • You will develop and gain agreement on compelling deal structures matching customer and West's long-term strategic objectives and business goals
  • In close collaboration with Technical Customer Service, you will develop a strong technical understanding of West products and services to solve problems and learn
  • You demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customer's challenges and strategic objectives to provide advice regarding potential product opportunities and risks
  • To project a credible executive image with polish & poise, you will proactively foster strategic partnership by consistently seeking feedback and take swift and decisive action to address any concerns or obstacles
  • Moreover, you closely collaborate with support functions to ensure West's offerings meet external customer needs
  • While developing vision and strategy, you consider a wide range of and enhance your understanding of industry trends that may impact the company in the near future

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing and have at least 5 years of professional experience in a B2B environment with a proven industry track record in Sales or Marketing
  • A minimum of 5 years related pharmaceutical or medical industry experience is preferred

  • On top of your advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint, you are ideally proficient with business analytics tools such as Power BI. Experience with sales and cold calling is beneficial

  • To help drive the success of our products and company you will bring your knowledge and eagerness to learn the drug development process and pharmaceutical companies bringing new therapies to market

  • You are a self-starter who will quickly develop their ability to manage and grow business with a large number of accounts

  • Working with teams and customers globally to open new growth opportunities, enhance customer satisfaction and maximize our profitability, poses no problem to you

  • In our dynamic environment, you have the ability to prioritize and multitasking coupled with a high level of creative and critical thinking

  • Strong written and communication skills in English and the willingness to travel round off your profile
