Apprentice Toolmaker

Summary: 

Assist qualified toolmakers with the maintenance and repair of all moulds, jigs and fixtures in operation at Tech Group Europe. Working under the direct supervision of a qualified toolmaker and reporting to the Toolroom Group Leader, the apprentice will also fulfil all of the requirements / block release training modules as directed by FAS in order to achieve fully qualified status.

 

                         

Requirements:

  • Apprentices must have a minimum of grade D in any five subjects in the Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Team player, works well with colleagues.
  • Show good initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient IT Skills.
  • Good attention to detail and strong ability to learn new techniques, systems and technologies.
  • Ability to interact well with fellow colleagues in the toolroom, suppliers, customers and external toolmakers.
  • Previous experience of working within a similar busy manufacturing environment.
  • Previous toolroom experience advantageous but not essential.
     
               
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements (OHSAS 18001).
  • Accurately maintain own training record as per schedule.
  • Follow the directions of assigned trainer / mentor.
  • Highlight to supervisor any training deficiencies.
  • Ensure assigned moulds are serviced as per schedules.
  • Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements training, and regulations.
  • Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures and corporate policies.
  • Act in accordance with the company’s guiding principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.
